Yuhua Cloud Silk – Rare Tippy Yunnan Yellow Tea

Delicate, ethereal and profoundly rare, Yuhua Cloud Silk shows the elegance yellow tea can offer when nurtured by high-mountain terroir and crafted with precision. It's grown in the mist-veiled highlands of Yunnan Province, cradled by forested peaks and nourished by mineral-rich mountain springs, and produced in extremely limited quantities — one of the most elusive treasures in the world of fine tea.

Yellow tea is a lesser-known gem outside of China, often regarded as a subtler cousin of green tea, yet with a rounder body, deeper sweetness and a signature slow-fire processing that softens grassy edges and enhances aromatic complexity. Yuhua Cloud Silk is a "tippy" yellow tea made almost entirely of young, downy buds, hand-harvested in early spring at their most tender stage.

Tasting Notes

  • Dry leaf: downy, tippy young buds
  • Aroma: comforting and complex
  • Flavor: sweet steamed corn, followed by warm honey-orchid
  • Accents: a whisper of cooling mint as the tea opens
  • Texture: silky, smooth and flowing

Why You'll Love It

Silky and gentle, Yuhua Cloud Silk is a perfect companion for meditation, creative work or quiet contemplation. This is tea as silk — smooth, rare and flowing with grace.

  • A rare, limited-production yellow tea
  • From the misty highlands of Yunnan
  • Hand-harvested early-spring buds
  • Sweet corn and honey-orchid notes

How to Enjoy

Brew it in a clear glass or gaiwan to watch the downy buds dance, and enjoy several gentle infusions. Savor it on its own during quiet moments, or share it with fellow tea lovers who appreciate rare finds.

Graceful, sweet and beautifully rare, Yuhua Cloud Silk is a jewel of Chinese yellow tea.

I always prefer a yellow tea over a potent green tea especially when considering stomach sensitivity. This tea is very aromatic with fruits of papaya and mango with a slight hint of pineapple. Sharing the first session with my dad he immediately noticed the fruit like aromas of the tea. This also lasts surprisingly long for a yellow tea up to around 5 or 6 infusions. I have purchased an additional 100 g of this batch immediately after the first session. Highly recommend as it is a good spring tea!

Another great tea from Tealyra, great all around balance tea, very light but refreshing. It is a yellow tea but as we know it is very much similar to green tea. Sweet, smooth from the tender buds

This yellow tea is divine. Light infusion with a caramel malty flavour.

The taste of this tea is between yellow tea and white tea. It is naturally subtle sweet and fragrant. I reminds me of Bai Hao Yin Zhen (a white tea). I like it very much.
