How do flavoured oolongs differ from regular oolong?
The base is the same partly oxidised oolong leaf. Flavoured oolongs add fruit pieces, spices or natural flavour, so the cup tastes of peach, coconut or strawberry as well as the tea itself.
How do I brew an oolong tea blend?
Use 1 to 2 teaspoons per 250 ml cup and water at 88 to 93°C. Steep 3 to 5 minutes. Taste at 3 minutes and adjust next time to suit you.
Can I re-steep a flavoured oolong?
Yes, the oolong leaves hold up well for a second cup. The added flavour is strongest in the first steep and gets softer after that, so add a minute to the second infusion.
Are oolong blends good iced?
Yes. White Peach Oolong and Strawberry Sundae Oolong are lovely cold. Brew a little stronger than usual and pour over ice, or cold brew the leaves in the fridge overnight.
