Ali Shan High Mountain – Premium Taiwanese High-Mountain Oolong

Ali Shan is one of Taiwan's most famous and beloved scenic areas, known for its breathtaking beauty, fresh mountain air, clear mountain passes and its world-famous narrow-gauge forest railway. The same mountain also produces some of the world's most prized high-mountain oolong — and our Ali Shan High Mountain is a premium example.

This hand-picked, hand-processed oolong has a deep jade color and a deep floral aroma. Some of the stems have been left on, adding even more depth to the aroma and flavor. It has been lightly roasted, giving the fragrance a deeper, darker floral character.

Tasting Notes

  • Dry leaf: deep jade, hand-rolled leaves
  • Aroma: deep, dark and floral
  • Flavor: light, buttery and sweet
  • Mouthfeel: rich and smooth
  • Finish: wonderfully deep and lasting florals

Why You'll Love It

High-mountain oolongs are prized for their sweetness and smoothness, thanks to cool temperatures and slow leaf growth at high altitude. Ali Shan offers exactly that — a buttery, floral cup that's never bitter, with a depth that rewards slow sipping and many infusions.

  • From famous Ali Shan, Taiwan
  • Hand-picked and hand-processed
  • Lightly roasted for deeper aroma
  • Buttery, sweet and floral

How to Enjoy

Brew it gongfu-style in a gaiwan or small teapot and enjoy many infusions. It pairs beautifully with fresh fruit, pastries and light meals, and makes a wonderful gift for oolong lovers.

Buttery, floral and beautifully deep, Ali Shan High Mountain is a true taste of Taiwan's mountains.

Really awesome tea, almost has like a lilac flower honey sweet taste to it. Super floral and bright with a hint of “citrusy-ness”. I don’t know how else to articulate how this tea is since I’m pretty new to oolong teas in general.

Very nice Oolong. Has a flavor that reminds me of buttered greens. Very smooth, full bodied with low bitterness. I enjoyed this one a lot!

This Ali Shan is wonderful. For an evening cup try about 6 grams in a liter and a longer steep. Makes a deliciously fragrant mellow brew.

This is delicious. Smooth, full of flavour, no bitterness at all. Will definitely buy this again
